Ice-cream

If you're an ice-cream n00b and haven't graduated from NTUC house-brands yet, sux to you!

For a start, you could go get first choice's chocolate chip ice-cream which is about the same price and LOADS better. or the raspberry ripple thing.

if you want real ice-cream packed in a box that is actually affordable, cadbury's is good. but for the experience go for dairy bell's banana split. ooh the jam. ooh the cream. ooh the fat. not that i give a fig about fat anyway. i had the ice-cream on its own for dinner on sat. at this point some dietary conformists i know of will raise their eyebrows and ask questions about my sanity. well, i just had ice-cream for lunch again so sux to them.

tiramisu is good. carrefour's tiramisu ice-cream isn't quite as good, but its good anyway. its horribly creamy and actually has a decent amount of alcohol and coffee in it. and the chocolate sauce still flows even after 5 days in the freezer! and it comes dusted with cocoa powder!

I'm hungry. again.

Last week of school

It WAS the last week of school.

I feel so good just typing that that I shall type it again, and not do some cheap CTRL+C *point click* CTRL+V trick.

It WAS the last week of school.

Ahhhh...

What happened to me in this LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL? (sorry couldn't help either the caps or the rhetorical question)

hmmm... some fun stuff... mai lao shi wasn't in sch so we erm erm erm tried to do the hw she set us erm erm erm :) (please let teh teachers not see this!)

on thurs i watched the rjc concert opus V. wiren was a bit unpolished, and i think the cello section was too small even though they're v. pro. the quintet and quartet were pretty good but the projection was bad. i got something like 4th row seats... phew. cringed as jeremy did his entry for octet lol. mark's heckling of LAU after the intermission was quite fun (and we'd never have that in RISE, too many uber-serious pple who'd have bitten everyone's heads off) - i'm sure LAU didn't mind a bit. the moth in the middle of bloch was a nice touch to a deeply emotional piece - however unintended it might have been.

on fri i went for remus' violin lesson and the sso concert... but lets begin at school. we had an ok math lesson becoz of the performances, and a good geog lesson... mrs lim had a very evil look as she was reading my end-of-term-reflection-thingy haha... then the CLE bomb - i got a pretty decent mark, GPA 3.64. not too shabby. but i didn't beat shaggy who had something like 3.76. damn. we sang hey jude really loudly and got many stares and 3 complaints. we had pizza, w00t for the teachers! we played assassins too, i killed 6, got killed 3 times, and set off a suicide bomb with radius 9.52m, killing 15 more (ex myself). So that's 2 kills + 15 innocent. on my first game i think that's decent.

sso concert - the bizet symphony, rachmaninov rhapsody on the caprice no. 24 (is it 24?) and enigma variations. bizet - another work from a teenage composer. bleargh. mendelssohn (octet) and bizet were really rubbing it in. 'cos in music i have yet to find any direction. yeah i do a bit of composing but its not like any different from what others have done, like in the last millenium. and i don't want to be last millenium stuff, like star wars. neither do i want to blindly follow pple into "ethnic music", minimalism, serialism or any other -ism that i don't even understand or appreciate. mendelssohn wrote his octet at 16. i'm 16. time is running out for me.

anyway on sat i had the rjc quiz and ms yeo's concert. the presentation was funny. my brain was freezing over. RGS was uber-pro! crap. and chung cheng was decent, except their arguments got really destroyed by the judges. they tried to ask a few questions and i thought we were quite safe. until alan had to bring up a point about increased terrorist activity (which i didn't actually know of until after i got home, condolences to sulawesi). but anyway it had no real relevance to our argument. they were going to destroy us so i made a joke and we ended pretty safely. so RGS and us got through to the second round. chao han from DHS cursed into the mike when he got a wrong answer. ouch. the second round was horribly difficult, we got cut to pieces. like just over a third of the points. anyway on to the third round. we were getting destroyed except RG and DHS were cutting each other like siao. so we got lucky picking on SJI while they were trying to get back at us without much success. (i feel very evil). anyway RGS and DHS had pretty bad strategy. they could have destroyed us but they decided to destroy each other... sigh. so we won W00T!! a $200 borders voucher and a trophy.

ms yeo's concert... i was in quite good spirits after RJC which i thought we would be pwned at. and horror of horrors ms yeo came in half a bar early in her first entry! must have been the stress. anyway no one noticed. thankfully all went well (i counted). i shall try writing a bass quartet too cos i think colin brumby's just sounds plain weird.

it always pays to smile in a performance. pple get relaxed and smile back. they also pay more attention if they think you're paying attention.

on sunday we had the masterclass. i accompanied 3 pple - remus zhaohan and dominic. remus did well (except the Cs were still a bit off). ms lim signalled at me to play when remus did (as in during the torture session). that was new to me - i was actually stoning at the piano. zhaohan was ok... but he seemed quite tense and ms scott became a bit tense too. that's why it pays to smile. joyce was good - i like the beethoven sonata. her pianist was pro too. i feel very inadequate as a pianist now. dominic was ok but he should have played the runs a little more slowly and clearly. shux was staring at him for parts of the piece haha.

so this was the last week of school.

ahh...

that was the last week of school. the last week. w00t

and the hols. RISE pract, SNYO pract, hol hw. ARGH!!!

Back to blogging!

Hi all... ... ... ... (loss for words)... ... ...

Ummm...

I think I made a mental note to say that SYF was cool except I hate Singapore Conference Hall... That was 27th April.

Then another note to say that after Chinese CT (ha HCl 4-hour-paper losers!) I met this funky old couple at McDonalds who told Derrick and I that the government shouldn't force pple to study chinese. w00t!

Then on the 30th I wanted to say that I found a stash of CDs that I'd forgotten about and that Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra is really uber uber uber pro.

Now I want to say that Lit was a bullshit paper like I said on MSN yesterday. And that I haven't found a way to prove that aliens were responsible for the evolution of Lilliputians. Yet.

But we live in hope!
